Dr Jared Dart has a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government, a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery, and a Doctor of Philosophy in eHealth and Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Besides his clinical activities he works as a management consultant to improve the health system, as well as running his own businesses.
He has worked clinically in hospitals in medical, surgical, emergency, orthopaedic, paediatric, psychiatric, and intensive care settings as well as his current work in General Practice. He works in General Practice because he enjoys the challenge of dealing with patients of all ages with all manner of problems, and being the first point of contact in the health system. He believes in empowering patients to manage their own health care, recognising that many of our unwanted health problems stem from unrecognised and poorly addressed mental health concerns. He also enjoys procedural work including managing skin cancer with minor surgery.
